Wildgatter Klopein / Game Park Klopein (500m)
Children can feed the deer and roe deer. There are also goats, chickens and ducks… Attached to the game park there is a “Buschenschenke” (country tavern). A cosy slow train takes you to the game park.
Walderlebniswelt Klopeiner See / Forest Experience Park (500m)
Brings unforgettable experiences to both adults and children. Over 50 attractions: a World high above the treetops, Giant Slides, Mini-Zoo, Labyrinth, a free playground, Natura Trail, Giant Trampoline...
Vogelpark Turnersee / Bird Park Turnersee (4 km)
The park is home to more than 340 bird species, among others water birds, birds of prey, hornbills, parrots... Attached to the Bird Park there is a petting zoo and a children’s playground.
Drauschifffahrt "MS Magdalena" / Drau Boat Trips (5 km)
Take a boat trip on the river Drau and let yourself be enchanted by the Southern Carinthian Landscape, ideally while having a coffee, ice cream or little snack on the MS Magdalena.
Obir Tropfsteinhöhle / Obir Stalactite Cave (18 km)
Plunge into a perfectly highlighted and fascinating subterranean world. During the guided tour you will pass 9 different stations with multimedia-based light-, sound- and video installation.
Pyramidenkogel (45 km)
An indispensable Carinthian sight is the new built observation tower on the mountain „Pyramidenkogel" near Keutschach, the world's highest observation tower made of wood. Enjoy unique panoramic views of Carinthia and its impressive landscape of lakes. Get an extra thrill by using the highest covered slide, which leads 52 m down into the depths. The building houses also a restaurant, a shop and sanitary facilities. Attached to the terrace there is a modern natural children's playground.
Griffner Schlossberg und Tropfsteinhöhle / Castle Mountain and Stalactite Cave Griffen (17 km)
Austria‘s most colourful Stalactite Cave is situated directly in the Castle Mountain. The Castle Mountain with a nature trail and a cosy pub called „Schloßbergschänke“ in the west tower offers you a marvellous view over the Jauntal region.
Wildensteiner Wasserfall / Cascade Wildenstein (13 km)
With a height of 54 m the Cascade Wildenstein is Europe‘s highest free-falling cascade. The walk from the parking area to the cascades takes about 20 minutes.
Hemmaberg mit Rosaliengrotte und Ausgrabungen / Mountain ridge Hemmaberg with St. Rosalia grotto and excavations (13 km)
A perfect half-day excursion by car or by bike. At the foot of the Hemmaberg you can visit the castle of Elberstein and the Archaeological Museum. On the mountain you will find the St. Rosalia grotto, the clockwise spring water, a 1000 year old lime tree and Celtic and Romanesque excavations.
Burg Hochosterwitz / Hochosterwitz Castle (30 km)
Picturesque and perfectly preserved Austrian castle with fortress gate, weir system and armories.
Tscheppaschlucht und Waldseilpark /Gorge Ferlach and Forest Rope Park (45 km)
Experience the elemental force of falling water. The climbing route leads from the „Teufelsbrücke“ bridge to the „Tschauko“ cascade, where over 500 l water per second tumble down into a depth of 26m. For those who need even more thrill, there is the Forest Rope Park. Next to 56 elements and 6 different parcours the 2 Flying Foxes with a length of over 300m are the highlights of an exciting family adventure.
